YCG Harvest Dinner
Celebrate the end of another
successful season with us at the
annual YCG Harvest Dinner!
This year's dinner will take place on Wednesday, October 19th from 5-7 PM at Yarmouth High School. The evening centers around delicious food featuring garden produce, a silent auction, a raffle, and a bake sale. All proceeds support the garden.
If you would like to sponsor the event or donate an item to the raffle or auction, please email Marjorie Stone, or call her at 846-4123.
Tickets at the door are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under.
Please put us on your calendar & bring friends.
2016 Golden Trowel
Congratulations to Sue Rowe and Mary Webber who were both honored with the Norm Steele Golden Trowel Award!
The award is given to people associated with the Yarmouth Community Garden who have made exceptional contributions, especially in support of the garden's mission to grow vegetables for those in need -- a passion of Norm Steele's.
Sue Rowe was honored both for her exceptional dedication to helping in the community plot each week and for her lead role in coordinating the Yarmouth Food Pantry and serving as our liaison.
Mary Webber, who was unable to receive her trowel in person, was honored for her generosity in inviting YCG volunteers to pick flowers in her gardens to make bouquets for Meals on Wheels recipients. She has also welcomed YCG renters and friends into her gardens to pick flowers in exchange for a donation to YCG. Her flower arrangements have graced the tables at our annual Harvest Dinner and she has created beautiful handmade quilts for the Harvest Dinner's silent auction.
The entire YCG community is grateful to Sue and Mary for their years of service. Norm would be proud.

The Yarmouth Community Garden
has received a $3,000 grant from
the TD Charitable Foundation.
This generous award will allow YCG to replace the original storage shed, now more than 10 years old, with a larger, better ventilated, and more versatile shed to be built by Davis Woodworking in Portland. YCG hopes to have the new shed built and installed before the snow flies in 2016.
